I am delighted to warmly welcome you to our school website, which I hope will give you a real sense of the exciting opportunities we offer here at Mount St Joseph.

I feel immensely proud and privileged to have been part of this community of learners, believers, and friends for the past twenty-four years. I began my teaching career at the school in 2001 as an English teacher, later becoming Head of English before moving into senior leadership, where I focused on teaching and learning. In September 2016, I was honoured to be appointed Headteacher of a community I truly cherish.

Our ethos is firmly rooted in the gospel values of service, tolerance, compassion, and forgiveness. As a community, we are committed to the spiritual, moral, educational, and social development of every individual.

At Mount St Joseph, we believe in the power of high expectations—both of our students and of ourselves. We recognise that every young person has unique potential, and we are determined to help each one fulfil it. Learning here is exciting, both inside and outside the classroom, enabling our students to make rapid and sustained progress.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of staff who provide an inspiring, structured, and supportive learning environment. Every student is encouraged to aim high, challenged to achieve their best, and supported to be ambitious for their future. Our consistently strong results reflect the hard work and aspirations of our students, the high-quality teaching of our staff, our excellent pastoral care, and the shared commitment of the whole school community to raising achievement

Beyond academic success, we place a strong emphasis on developing confidence, resilience, interpersonal skills,s and self-esteem. We want every student to enjoy their time at Mount St Joseph, to create lasting friendships and memories, and to leave us with the qualifications, skills, and personal qualities they need to thrive as young adults.

I am committed to working in partnership with students, staff, governors, and parents to continue to deliver a rich and fulfilling educational experience. This is built on high-quality teaching, a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners, and positive relationships based on teamwork, respect, perseverance, friendship, and equality.

We greatly value the support of our parents and carers, and I look forward to working with you to ensure that your child’s time at Mount St Joseph is both happy and successful.

Warm regards,
Mrs A. Devany
Headteacher
